Welcome to the Department of Pharmaceutics...

The pharmaceutical industry and its development is an important component of healthcare systems. It is organized jointly by several public and private organizations specialized in the research, discovery, development and marketing of medicines for human health. Since the College of Pharmacy is the college specialized in pharmacological sciences, whose outputs are shaped as a product of various research projects in pharmaceutical sciences that define the identity of the pharmacist profession, the mission of the Department of Pharmaceuticals is highlighted as a specialization in the sciences of designing, developing and manufacturing pharmaceutical preparations in an in-depth manner.

The department is mainly concerned with:

• Studying methods to design, develop and deliver drugs, taking into account the factors affecting the drug (such as its physical and chemical properties) or the vital factors in the human body.
• Studying the basics of pharmaceutical manufacturing and the latest industrial methods, processes and techniques in the development and production of new and innovative medicines.
• Studying the theories of physical and chemical properties of materials used in the formulation of pharmaceutical preparations.
• Studying the effect of the components of the compound on the effectiveness of the resulting preparations.
• Studying methods for formulating many forms of solid preparations, sterile liquid preparations, non-sterile liquid preparations, and soft preparations.
• Studying the methods of conducting the necessary quality control tests, according to the laws of the food and drug organizations and authorities.

In the Department of Pharmaceutics, we aim to prepare graduates of the College of Pharmacy who have mastered these sciences and skills during their study in the bachelor's degree program (Doctor of Pharmacy) and the graduate programs in pharmacy.
