20260803330This paper aims to delve into the linguistic origins that laid to shape the earliest context for the development of ancient Arabic criticism. Also, it focuses on assessing the contributions of linguists in shaping critical and rhetorical thought among ancient Arabs by tracking a number of their critical opinions and judgments, and evaluative starting points for language and methods of poetry. Additionally, monitoring linguists' contribu-tions in the shaping of criticism and the methodological evolution of critical discourse and its analytical tools. Therefore, this paper seeks to answer the question of how linguistic texts that issued by linguists con-tributed to shaping ancient criticism, and how did the linguistic texts enrich later critical perspectives in the third and fourth centuries? This is through the adoption of the historical descriptive approach to tracking these texts and research these texts.
