Abstract
This research includes the technique of symbolism in the Diwan of a contemporary Saudi po-et, which is the Diwan (Other Details of Water), by the poet Sultan Al-Sabhan. The researcher addressed the symbol as a means of concealment and illusion, and a way to hint rather than clarify, and this study came to highlight the symbols scattered within the diwan: Preface, two articles, and a conclusion. The introduction dealt with a brief definition of the poet and his diwan, and the definition of symbol as a stylistic means on which the contemporary poet re-lies, then the first and second researches came to indicate the types of symbols in the poet's diwan, where the first research dealt with the symbol in the titles of the texts - both the main title and the sub-titles of the poems - then the second research came to indicate the types of symbol in the internal structure of the poetic texts, addressing the subjective, intellectual, and existential symbolism, as well as the symbolism of the poet's poetry.
