Abstract
The study aimed to identify the qualification requirements and the professional competencies of the intellectual awareness unit supervisors in education departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to present a suggested proposal for the development of professional competencies for the intellectual awareness unit supervisors in education departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve these objectives, all directors of education departments in the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were selected and (43) managers responded. In addition, a sample of (9) experts and specialists in intellectual security were selected for the interview. The study adopted the mixed method and the questionnaire and the interview to collect data. The study reached several results including: The approval of the study sample from education directors was (very high) on all dimensions of professional competencies for supervisors of the intellectual awareness unit in education departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study provided a proposed strategy for improving the professional competencies of supervisors of the intellectual awareness unit in Saudi Arabian education departments. The study presented a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which were: That the supervisors of the intellectual awareness unit in the education departments be rehabilitated to organize intellectual awareness campaigns to reduce the manifestations of intellectual deviation. And acquire methods of modifying deviant behavior according to the scientific foundations of behavior modification theories.
