Overview
As a result of globalization, universities now face an open challenge and competition between each other to occupy the best ranks at the national, regional and international levels. Therefore, each of them has tried to make use, in its own way, of the latest advancements of technology in hardware, software and networks to serve the educational process and develop its outputs.
Similarly, Umm Al-Qura University has endeavored to prepare strategic and operational plans to develop the educational process, ensure the quality of its outputs, and assure their being in line with the needs of the labor market, thereby embodying the objectives of the Saudi vision 2030. The university entrusted the Deanship of Information Technology with the task of spreading the culture of using information technology and activating it. This is achieved by joining the National Transformation Program 2020 and the E-Government Transformation Program (Yesser) and by using advanced infrastructure, networks, applications, and programs that ensure the quick, safe and professional provision of services required for all the beneficiaries, including the students, academic staff, and employees.
