Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a double process through which the paramedic resuscitates both the heart and the lung. It is performed either by resuscitating the lung through having the air and oxygen reach it by the artificial respiration, or by resuscitating the heart by manually pressing on the heart: in the area located between the chest bone and the backbone. This helps pump the blood to the vital parts of the body of the injured, especially the brain.
The importance of resuscitating the heart and the lung lies in the fact that it provides the heart and the brain with the blood and the oxygen, which increases the survival chances of the injured person.
In our modern society, it is morally incumbent on every mature person to help those in need. Knowing how to rescue an injured person is highly important as a person’s life may depend on the help one can provide. The rewarding of rescuing a person’s life is not restricted to worldly gains as Allah lavishingly rewards you for such an act. Allah says “whoever saves a life, it would be as though he saved the lives of all humans”.
