The College of Medicine seeks to coordinate various volunteer activities, to serve the residents and visitors of the city of Makkah. The volunteering fields include the following:
1. Hajj Volunteer Program:
The Hajj Volunteer Program aims to recruit volunteer medical staff from the students of different health colleges at Umm Al-Qura University. This is for them to work in the service of the guests of the Sacred Mosque, in line with the aspirations of volunteering specified by the Saudi Vision 2030 which aims at providing actual field training on disaster management and providing emergency health care.
The College of Medicine strives to develop its volunteer program to keep pace with the requirements of the national transformation plan and the aspirations of the state, in the framework of providing health services to the visitors for Hajj and Umrah. The college also aims at entering into partnerships and coordinating with the relevant entities to ensure the quality and continuity of work.

2. Ramadan Volunteer Program:
The Ramadan Volunteer Program aims to provide medical and emergency services to visitors of the Sacred Mosque during the month of Ramadan, in cooperation with the Saudi Red Crescent and the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.
This program aims to train students on how to act in emergencies and critical situations, in addition to providing a set of skills that students will acquire during their field work.
3. Educational Campaigns:
These campaigns aim to educate the community and visitors of the city of Makkah on the most important health and medical information, which contribute to improving the health of the individual and society.
These campaigns also aim to develop the skills of the students participating in these campaigns in many aspects, such as dialogue skills, academic skills, and the ability to deal with different groups in the society.
4. Weekly Field Tours in the Grand Mosque of Makkah:
These tours aim to provide medical and emergency services to visitors of the Sacred Mosque during the month of Ramadan, in cooperation with the Saudi Red Crescent and the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. The tours take place on Fridays, on a weekly basis.
This program aims to train students on how to act in emergencies and critical situations, in addition to providing a set of skills that students will acquire during their field work.
5. Visits to the Ill, Elderly, and Orphans:
The college organizes periodic trips to visit some members of the community, such as the ill, elderly, and socially isolated orphans, to provide them with psychological and moral support.
These visits aim to enhance the spirit of volunteerism and of dealing with different groups in the society, in addition to cheering up individuals who desperately need these visits.
6. Producing Electronic Educational and Awareness Materials:
The faculty members supervise the students in producing electronic awareness materials, such as videos and posters, in simplified Arabic language to educate the Saudi and Arab community about health matters, which may contribute to improving their health.
These materials contribute to the development of students’ various skills, including their scientific cognition of different materials, information delivery skills, and the ability to produce different electronic materials to educate society at various educational levels.
