President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas held a meeting with UQU Vice Presidents, University Budget Draft Taskforce at the Department of Planning and Budget to discuss draft of the budget within the ceiling set by the Ministry of Finance to be considered in the planning phase to set budget draft for the coming three fiscal years "2018-2019-2020". The meeting took place at the president's office in Abdyia campus on Sunday Rajab 19, 1438 H.  

At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. Assas valued the support attached to the university by the wise leadership which enabled it to achieve excellence in its various academic programs to become in line with the programs of the international universities. He said the meeting is intended to realize the objectives emanating from the Kingdom Vision 2030 and to adapt between the various university programs in accordance with the requirements of the labor market.   

He went on to add that lists of the new operational and capital initiatives for the programs and projects were prepared after conducting necessary classification according to priority to include them within the university budget  for the coming fiscal year and to discuss  with the Ministry of Finance the initiatives of the following years 2019-2020. "In line with the new approach adopted by the Ministry of Finance based on the National Transformation Program 2020, and in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030, the university has set via the department of planning and budget its payment plan on the programs, projects and operational and capital initiatives for the years 2018-219-2020, thus contributing to organize works of the projects under implementation", he elaborated, lauding the efforts exerted by the UQU Vice Presidents and the University Budget Draft Taskforce at the Department of Planning and Budget.  

For his part, UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou said the real efforts exerted by the department of planning and budget has contributed and still to implementing the operational, educational, administrative and research projects carried out by the university to serve students and employees. He extended his thanks and appreciation to UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas for his lasting keenness and close follow-up of all works undertaken by various departments of the university.
