The Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education at Umm Al-Qura University received the international accreditation, "Quality Seal for Online Courses" from Quality Matters (QM), an international accreditation organization, for the Pharmaceutics III course. The course was developed electronically through the deanship as part of the project, "E-Course Development". The new accreditation ensures the quality standards of e-courses according to international standards.
His Excellency the Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Mutairi, confirmed that the deanship endeavors to obtain international accreditation for five developed electronic courses, which will be offered through the integrated education system during the current year, according to international quality standards based on scientific research, best practices, and peer review. This approach is part of the deanship's plan to ensure the quality of e-courses, in accordance with the university's approach in seeking excellence in the orientation and practices of e-learning systems and the quality of teaching.
It is worth mentioning that the course received a seal of approval from the Quality Matters organization and was awarded the full grade, after passing many phases of review carried out by the organization. It was approved as a university course complying with international standards of quality for higher education courses, according to "QM Higher Education Rubric, Sixth Edition (RU)". The course was also included in the Quality Matters database as an accredited university course for Umm Al-Qura University, resulting in UQU having four QM-certified courses.
