UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service who serves also as the acting UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi and his accompanying delegation paid a visit to the College of Computer and Information technology to check on Swanid Initiative carried out by the college. His delegation included Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed Jaafar Thabit and CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Al-Alaf.
Upon arrival, the delegation was received by the Dean of College of Computer and Information Technology Dr. Fahad bin Mohamed Al-Dossari, College Vice Deans and Heads of the departments. The delegation listened to a brief presentation about the achievements of the college in the academic and developmental fields. After that, the delegation listened to an elaborate presentation about Swanid initiative, its mechanism of implementation and achievements made.
Afterward, the delegation visited Swanid Exhibition in which the achievements of the college affiliates and students in the academic, research and innovation fields are showcased. Then, the delegation visited student hall at the college of computer engineering which was established as a linking point between the department and students.
Dean of College of Computer and Information Technology Dr. Fahad Al-Dossari said the idea of Swanid Initiative emanated from the important of integration between the college and its affiliates, students and the external community as all these parties support each other to achieve the excellence sought-after by the college. " This initiative includes various unique programs in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and development and the main objective behind it is to support and explore talents of the college students, sharpen and highlight them via Swanid Exhibition", he expounded.
Concluding the visit, Dr. Ghazi expressed his admiration for the achievements and outcomes made by the affiliates and students of the college of computer and information system which resulted from the diligent and continuous work carried out by the college in the fields of development and pioneership. He requested taking advantage of this outcomes through Wadi Makkah Company to develop and sharpen them so as to transform them into commercial products in the future.
