UQU President Discusses Participation of the University in  the International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education

 In a meeting held at his office in Abdyia campus on Wednesday Rajab 1, 1438 H, President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas discussed with the UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service, the acting UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi and the CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Al-Alaf, the university participation in the International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education (IECHE) to be held under patronage of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz  at the International Conference Center in Riyadh in the period from Rajab 15 to 18, 1438 H. The event will be held under the slogan of "the Role of Saudi Universities in Achieving Kingdom Vision 2030". 


During the meeting, Dr. Assas reviewed final designs of the university pavilion stressing that participation of the university must befits its scientific and educational status. He added that the participation of the university and its investment arm Wadi Makkah comes to highlight university experience in achieving the Kingdom vision 2030 and supporting entrepreneurships by such means of transforming outputs of scientific research and innovation into tangible technology products and startups which have achieved sales contracts with a number of clients in the public and private sectors thus contributing to setting attractive environment for local and international investors similarly.  

     
Further, he said participation of the university will include presentation of the programs and services provided for students and faculty members besides showcasing a number of technologies made by Wadi Makkah startups in the Grand Mosque and Holy Sites such as the internal navigation system, vehicle tracking system and other innovative technology products which surpassed the geographical boundaries of the Kingdom. He explained that the university endeavors to exert much effort to meet aspirations of the wise leadership in activating role of Saudi universities to achieve objectives of the Kingdom Vision 2030.   


For his part, the acting UQU Vice President for Business and Innovation Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi praised support and  interest of the UQU President  in the participation of the university in IECHE that comes to highlight the university role towards achieving the Kingdom Vision 2030, pointing that the university via its investment arm Wadi Makkah has already achieved number of objectives stipulated in the Kingdom Vision 2030.
