UQU President Congratulates Media Department for Winning Documentary Film Award

President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas congratulated Media Department at the College of Social Sciences on the occasion of winning the first place outpacing media colleges and departments in the Arabian universities, at the International Documentary Film Festival organized by Higher Institute of Media at El-Shorouk Academy in Egypt.

 

On this occasion, Dr. Assas received at his office in Abdyia campus the Dean of Social Sciences College Dr. Mohamed bin Ahmed BaSagr, Head of Media Department Dr. Mohamed Hindia, Member of Teaching Staff in the Department Mr. Hatim Khaimi, Dr. Wagdi Hilmi and a number of students participated in the event. The meeting took place on Tuesday Jumada Al-Thani 1438 H. 


During the meeting, Dean of Social Sciences Dr. BaSagr and Head of Media Department Dr. Hindia extended their thanks and appreciation to UQU President Dr. Assas for his continuous support for the department and college, saying thanks to Allah in the first place and the support and attention paid to the college by his excellency which enabled winning the first place at this event. They lauded continuous support provided by Dr. Assas to all activities and programs of the college. 


For his part, Dr. Assas congratulated the Department Media for winning the first place in the International Documentary Film Festival saying such a thing comes as no surprise from this department for its march marked by various similar achievements. He said its hardly to find local media mean in the kingdom not including graduates of the department.


Concluding his speech, he extended his thanks to the Dean of the College, Head of Media Department and members of teaching staff for their efforts, wishing all success to the college and department in their future endeavors.
