Al-Faisal Sponsors a Symposium Entitled: ‘The Future of the Kingdom in Light of the Aspirations and Strategies of King Salman’

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Khalid Al-Faisal, the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of Makkah Region, Umm Al-Qura University, represented by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Chair for Studies on the History of Makkah, in coordination with King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah), on Wednesday, the 7th of the current month, will hold a symposium entitled: "The Future of the Kingdom in Light of the Aspirations and Strategies of King Salman bin Abdulaziz", in King Abdulaziz Historical Hall.

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, underlined that the development achievements and the major advances witnessed by the Saudi Kingdom in various fields are an important source of inspiration for the Saudi people, informing them and enabling them to carry on with building the renaissance of the nation and upbringing future generations in light of the vision of the wise government led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Suad, may Allah protect him, according to the plans and strategies led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.

Moreover, Prof. Aal Madh-hab stressed the importance of the academic chair in supporting historical studies related to Makkah and the sacred sites and documenting the lauded efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the service of national and Islamic history. He pointed out that the objective of establishing the chair focus on two foundations: Makkah and Salman, which added to the distinction of the studies presented and were a helpful source for the qualitative research and pioneering leadership in which Umm Al-Qura University finds pride.

On his part, the Chair Professor, Dr. Abdullah bin Husain Al-Sharif, stated that the symposium will witness the participation of national figures, like His Excellency Dr. Fahd bin Abadullah Al-Samari, the Counselor at the Royal Court and the Commissioned Secretary-General of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah), and will cover a number of themes, including an important topic presented by His Excellency Prof. Abdullah Al-Muatani, former Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, who shall introduce a research paper reviewing the ancient history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the present prosperous reality, and the desired future. Furthermore, in his paper, Dr. Ahmad Al-Zaila`i, a member of the Shura Council and former History Professor at King Saud University, will discuss the features of King Salman's aspirations and strategies, and the impact of his wise policies and experience in building the future. In the symposium, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Urabi, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History and International Relations at King Abdulaziz University, will explore the role of the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030 in foreseeing and building the future of the kingdom. His Excellency the UQU President has invited a number of officials, dignitaries and intellectuals of Makkah to attend this national, historical and cultural symposium.
