Forty Students at the Department of Media launched six media initiative projects to glorify the scared city and highlight the efforts exerted for the visitors. This is part of the "Glorification Initiative for Media Specialists" carried out by the Sacred City Glorification Project at Al-Ahyaa Centers Association in Makkah in cooperation with the university. The inauguration took place in the presence of the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association, Dr. Hashim Hariri, and with the support of Al-Rajhi Charity Establishment.
The Head of the Media Department, Dr. Salim Uraijah, in his speech during the closing ceremony of the initiative, referred to the importance of making collaborative partnerships with the different sectors to enrich the scientific outcome of the students with scientific gains and skills that enable them to join the labor market after graduation and to integrate professionally with the working staff. This is in addition to the importance of including the training hours within the study plans for the students of the media department. He then praised the role of the Sacred City Glorification Project affiliated to Al-Ahyaa Centers Association in Makkah in embracing and training the students for 11 weeks.
On his part, the General Supervisor of the "Glorification of the Holy City of Makkah" project, Dr. Talal Abu Al-Nur, explained that this initiative comes as part of the project plans to disseminate knowledge related to the sacred city, channel energies of UQU media students, and hone and develop their skills to contribute to disseminate the culture of the sacred city (Makkah).
In his speech, Dr. Hashim Hariri hailed the outcomes of the initiative, the efforts of media students in introducing Makkah and the efforts and services provided by our government, may Allah help them, in serving the pilgrims and Umrah performers as well as those praying in the holy city. Such a matter is achieved by designing media products and projects that create and leave an impact on everyone who visits them, and at the same time accomplishing the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 aiming to enrich the experience of the pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors of the Grand Mosque.
