The Wadi Makkah Venture Capital Fund granted an investment opportunity for the ‘Bab Makkah’ start-up, which was launched in 2018 A.C. to serve and market the retail sectors through its online platform. It offers products inspired by the Islamic culture, manufactured in the two holy cities (Makkah and Madinah). The ‘Bab Makkah’ also helps national products expand and spread locally, regionally and globally through various sales channels that serve pilgrims and Umrah performers wishing to acquire local products.
The ‘Bab Makkah’ has achieved growth in its sales during the past six months, and more profit increase is expected during the coming period.
The ‘Bab Makkah’ start-up is one of the outputs of the Wadi Makkah Investment Business Incubator Program (Numuw). This program reveals Wadi Makkah's keenness to provide stimulating programs for the entrepreneurship community, and its commitment to create start-ups and support them to promote the local economy built on technology in general, and the sectors concerned with Hajj and Umrah services in particular.
