The General Supervisor of the Voluntary Work Administration at Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Salih Al-Furaih, was selected as the Secretary General of the Board of Directors of the first General Assembly of the Saudi Scientific Society for Voluntary Work, after being elected by the researchers and specialists in the field of voluntary work among the members of the society.

This took place during a meeting held recently by the society in its headquarters in Al-Jouf University to select the members of the board of directors of the society in its first session. The event was attended by a number of workers and affiliates in the field of voluntary work.

On his part, Prof. Al-Furaih said his selection stems from the university's belief in the importance of its presence in such scientific councils to strengthen its leading role in serving voluntary work, scientifically and practically, and to establish quality relations in order to take advantage of the voluntary cadres from various sections.

The society is considered the first scientific society specialized in the field of voluntary work, with the aim of developing the work relying on scientific studies and peer-reviewed research, organizing conferences and symposia, preparing awareness programs, and printing and translating books and research papers in the field of voluntary work.
