In the framework of the community partnership, Dr. Azhar Yassin Samkari, Head of the Department of Education and Psychology at Al-Leith University College, participated in activating the World Mental Health Day in cooperation with the Center for Social Development in Makkah. Dr. Azhar presented a program entitled: ‘Positive Prescriptions for Mental Health’ which targets the center’s staff. The program was presented in the women's training hall.
The aim of the program is to shed light on the concept of mental health and its manifestations, and to identify the dangers of psychological stress and its relationship to physical and behavioral diseases. The program also included positive steps that provide behavioral and cognitive techniques for facing psychological stress and alleviating its impact.
The program included several themes, the most important of which are: the concept of mental health and the factors affecting it, consequences of impaired mental health, and finally, positive steps that lead to feeling happiness.
At the end of the program, Dr. Azhar and the staff were thanked for their participation and attendance.
