His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, accompanied by a number of UQU officials, visited the Cultural Center project and the initiative to improve the visual scene of Jabal Al-Nour, Jabal Thawr and the Revelation Museum in Makkah, affiliated to the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites in Makkah. The project is being carried out by Samaya Investment Company, one of the companies interested in innovative ideas for the cultural and tourism projects. This is to activate the memorandum of understanding between the university and the company to develop the company's cultural and tourism projects.
During the visit, the UQU President and his accompanying delegation checked on the exhibition of the International Architectural Competition for Designing the Cultural Center and the Revelation Museum.
He praised the cultural and civilizational mixture in implementing the project as well as its diversity in terms of national and scientific heritage, in addition to the way it is presented to the public and visitors.
The delegation of Umm Al-Qura University included: the UQU Vice President, Prof. Farid Al-Ghamdi, the Supervisor of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Babalghaith, the Assistant Vice President for Development and Community Service, Dr. Khalid Barqawi, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, Dr. Ahmad Al-Ahmadi, the Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Muwaffaq Urijah, the Vice Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Educational Affairs, Dr. Wajdi Qattan, an academic staff member at the Department of Islamic Architecture, Dr. Wadee Barqawi, the Vice Dean of the College of Engineering for Educational Affairs, Dr. Shadi Munshi, the Vice Dean of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hamza Al-Harthi, the Head of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management at the College of Business Administration, Dr. Muhammad Baqadir, and the Supervisor of the Department of Public Relations, Dr. Omar Al-Maliki.
It should be noted here that earlier, Umm Al-Qura University and Samaya Investment signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop cultural and tourism projects, sharing research, consultancy and training between the two sides and spreading the culture of preparing tourist guides and recreational and introductory exhibitions in various languages within the Saudi society. The aim of the MoC is to contribute to raising the quality of tourism outputs and to enriching the religious and cultural experience of the pilgrims and visitors.
