The Chair of Qur’anic Guidance at Umm Al-Qura University accomplished 60 PhD theses in 18 academic sessions during its conference entitled, "Glorification of Allah as Implied in Qur'anic Guidance", which was held in the middle of last year at the International University of Africa in Sudan. During this conference, the chair received 176 peer-reviewed papers from 58 universities.
These facts were mentioned in a presentation made by the Chair Professor, Dr. Yahya Zamzami, to His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, in his office at Al-Abdiyyah campus. The presentation focused on the chair's partnership with the International University of Africa in Sudan, including an explanation of the future plans of the chair's programs.
In his presentation, Dr. Zamzami talked about the conference results and the recommendations it made to study the themes of glorifying Allah in the Prophet’s biography (peace be upon him). It also recommended the employment of various sciences and knowledge to study the themes of glorifying Allah, and the establishment of global partnerships to produce applied programs for Qur'anic guidance.
His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University praised these steps and the academic chair's scientific achievements in this regard. He stressed Umm Al-Qura University's keenness to strengthen its cooperation with the International University of Africa. In the same context, he praised the importance of this partnership to spread the culture of Quranic guidance.
His Excellency urged those in charge of the chair to develop a media plan to publicize the chair, its mission and goals, and to form a technical team to develop electronic applications concerned with Quranic guidance.
It is noteworthy that the university established this chair 10 years ago as a specialized platform in the field of Qur’anic guidance. The chair enhances the role of Qur'anic guidance and spreads its culture, qualifies specialists to study such guidance, and solidifies the role of academics and researchers to collect, elicit and link people to the needs of the nation.
