Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers at Umm Al-Qura University, is holding the online summer training course for Arabic language instructors from Indonesia and Senegal. The course was launched on Sunday, 19 Dhul-Hijjah, 1441 A.H., remotely, due to the exceptional circumstances of the Coronavirus pandemic. The training course aims at harnessing the academic potential of the university to disseminate the sciences of the Arabic language, and to keep offering these useful courses which have been approved by His Majesty the Saudi King since 1428 A.H., directed by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al Al-Sheikh, and supported and promoted by His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail.
His Excellency the Dean of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, Dr. Hassan Bukhari, pointed out that this course teaches 20 Arabic language instructors from Indonesia and Senegal, representing different regions and educational bodies. He added that a group of specialized professors at the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers will participate in offering this course, with a number of specialized training packages. The training course will touch upon a number of subjects, such as teaching language elements and skills, preparing materials for teaching the Arabic language, linguistic assessment, effective linguistic teaching skills, and utilizing modern technology in learning and teaching the Arabic language as a second language.
On his part, the Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Mutairi, asserted that the deanship will open all its electronic platforms to facilitate the access to knowledge for knowledge seekers in various countries of the world. He explained that the deanship will use its virtual classrooms to serve the students wherever they may be, with the help of the latest digital means of distance education.
The training course comes as a part of the laudable efforts exerted by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the service of Islam and the language of the Qur'an, and to empower the cadres and entities interested in the Arabic language to enhance its spread and study in various parts of the world.
