UQU Doubles the Numbers of Students to Be Admitted to the Evening Joint First Year and the Qualifying Year Programs

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, has agreed to increase the numbers of students admitted to the programs of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education for the Qualifying Year Program and the Evening Joint First Year for the academic year 1442 A.H. The opportunity will be given for the applicants of both sexes who could not be admitted to the bachelor's program.

The Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Ghamdi, stressed the keenness of the university to give an opportunity to the students wishing to join the programs of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education, enabling them to complete their university education. He said that this will take place according to a specific mechanism for each program and in line with the conditions of the participating colleges, which include applicants having to be successful in the personal interview. He noted that the student must apply for one of the majors related to the college from which he qualified, as per the applicable rules and criteria.

The programs of the Evening Joint First Year in the university aim at qualifying the secondary school graduates, who were not able to join the BA program, to study in the programs of the Joint First Year which qualify the students to enroll in one of the following colleges: the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture (only for male students), the College of Computer and Information Systems, and the College of Business Administration in the male and female sections.

The Evening Qualifying Year program qualifies students, after completing the first year and obtaining the required rate (2 to 4), to continue their university study and obtain a bachelor’s degree in the following colleges: College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, College of Arabic Language and Literature, College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion, College of Islamic Economics and Finance, College of Social Sciences, College of Applied Sciences, Al-Qunfudhah University College, Al-Leith University College, and Jamoum University College.
