His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, conducted a meeting at his office today (Tuesday) with the President of the LinkedIn Company in Saudi Arabia, Ms. Reem Al-Harbi, via a video conference, to discuss means of cooperation with the university in the fields of employment and training.
The meeting discussed ways to cooperate with the university in order to help students develop their skills in addition to their academic specializations. It also focused on providing students with job opportunities commensurate with their personal capabilities and aspirations, and on training leaders and administrators among the university employees on technical tools to access experts and influencers, in order to take advantage of the available career opportunities.
His Excellency explained that the university seeks to reduce the gap between educational outcomes and the labor market. His Excellency also touched on raising the students' awareness about the importance of integrating university majors with personal skills to gain better career opportunities, and for the university to become a beacon that attracts national talent.
On her part, Ms. Reem Al-Harbi stated that the company seeks to connect professionals with each other in order to build a digital identity for every user through which they can present their practical experiences, review the most prominent professions available for their specializations, discover the most important skills that increase their career opportunities, and develop their CVs.
