Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, is currently holding the online summer training course for Arabic language instructors in Indonesia and Senegal, which started on Sunday, 19 Dhul-Hijjah, 1441 A.H. The course is being held online due to the exceptional circumstances experienced this year during the Coronavirus pandemic. The training course aims to harness the academic potential of the college to promote the sciences of the Arabic language, in continuation of these useful courses, which have been offered by the college and approved by His Majesty the Saudi King since 1428 A.H.
His Excellency the Dean of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, Dr. Hasan Bukhari, underlined that the training course will benefit 20 Arabic language instructors from Indonesia and Senegal representing different regions and educational bodies, and a group of professors from the Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Speakers will participate in its presentation. The training course will touch upon specialized training portfolios and subjects, such as teaching language elements and skills, the preparation of educational materials, linguistic assessment, and effective language teaching skills, in addition to employing modern academic techniques in teaching the Arabic language as a second language.
On his part, the Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Mutairi, stated that the deanship will open all its electronic platforms to facilitate the access to knowledge for the knowledge seekers in various countries of the world, using its virtual classrooms to serve the students with the help of the latest digital means of distance education.
The training course comes as a part of the laudable efforts exerted by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (may Allah support it) in service to Islam and the language of the Quran, and to empower the cadres and entities interested in the Arabic language to enhance its spread and study in various parts of the world.
