Umm Al-Qura University and Samaya Investment Signs a Memorandum of Cooperation to Develop Cultural and Touristic Projects

His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, yesterday, Wednesday, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the CEO of Samaya Investment, Mr. Fawaz Al-Mehrij, to promote mutual cooperation in the implementation of cultural and tourism projects and the exchange of research and consultation between the two institutions.

The memorandum of cooperation aimed to spread the culture of preparing tourist guides and recreational and introductory exhibitions in various languages within the Saudi society, to promote scientific cooperation to unify the research efforts of knowledge content teams and linguistic and editorial review panels, and to perform surveys, evaluations, as well as analytical and statistical studies.

In addition, it aimed to train the exhibition guides and qualify them to design and implement training programs, and also hold interactive workshops to measure the quality of guidance material provided to the community.

His Excellency the Dean of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, Dr. Hasan Bukhari, underlined that this agreement comes as part of the lauded efforts to develop partnerships with government and private agencies. It is also part of the efforts to contribute to raising the quality of tourism outputs and enriching the religious and cultural experience of the pilgrims and visitors, being one of the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.

On his part, the CEO of Samaya Investment, Mr. Fawaz Al-Mehrij, confirmed that the company had previously set up a number of cultural projects in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. Moreover, the company is seeking, in cooperation with Umm Al-Qura University, through its various colleges and specialized institutes, to implement advisory and awareness projects and design training programs to qualify professional trainers.
