His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, confirmed that the issuance of the supreme approval of the independence of the three universities: King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, and Imam Abdul-Rahman bin Faisal University, choosing them to implement the new university system, serves as an academic basis for developing the educational and research process toward the realization of independence and empowerment in setting rules and regulations in line with the policies approved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and also supporting the Saudi Vision 2030.

His Excellency the UQU President expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to the leader of the development process and the builder of our country's renaissance, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Muhammad bin Salman, may Allah safeguard them, on the occasion of issuing the decision on the independence of the universities. He also praised the lauded efforts of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al Al-Sheikh, in developing the education programs and initiatives in a way that contributes to raising the quality of its academic outputs and qualifies the universities' graduates with the necessary skills and expertise.

Moreover, His Excellency the UQU President stated that the new system is characterized by mirroring the confidence of the wise leadership, may Allah support them, in the capabilities of the Saudi universities in terms of their high-quality leaders, cadres, and academic experiences, qualifying them to expand the scope of making the necessary decisions and setting their executive rules. This is to enable them to achieve good governance by establishing a University Board of Trustees with the participation of members from entities outside the university.

In addition, His Excellency alluded to the development prospects, thanks to the new university system, that have become possible in the future of university investment and the potential of raising the efficiency of the university cadres working in administrative and educational structures. There are also prospects of bridging their outputs in accordance with the needs that are compatible with the labor market by having multiple members from outside the university in various councils. Lastly, His Excellency wished the presidents of the three universities success in making massive development leaps in realizing the potential of the new system in accordance with its processes that support the strategies of the national plans.
