His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bahusain Bafail, issued an administrative decision to establish a new administration under the name: ‘Voluntary Work Administration’, which will be directly affiliated to the University Presidency for Development and Community Service.

The decision sprang from the vision of the university concerning the necessity of developing a culture of volunteering in the university and the broader society. This is in order to instill the concept of taking the initiative and to inculcate a sense of responsibility. Moreover, the vision aims to bridge the relationship between the university and the bodies related to voluntary work to cultivate programs that enhance awareness of the importance of voluntary work and develop ways to participate in the fulfillment of social rights. The aim is to also enable the university employees and students to harness their energies and time, channeling them into valuable actions that strengthen their sense of belonging to society and deepen their sense of responsibility.

His Excellency the UQU President also issued an administrative decision appointing His Excellency Prof. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Abdul-Muhsin Al-Furaih as General Supervisor of the Voluntary Work Unit, in addition to his current work.

He asked Allah (Exalted and Glorified be He) to help him and grant him success in performing his duty toward knowledge and its seekers, and in raising the standard of this university to enable it to reach its desired goals.
