Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), represented by the Administrative Development Unit, has organized a workshop under the theme "Preparing Directors … Leadership (Art and Behavior) to Achieve Goals".
It was attended by heads of departments in boys and girls sections. The men took part in the workshop at King Abdel Aziz Hall 2 while the women took part at Juffali Hall in Al Zaher.
The workshop is part of the Makkah Culture Forum's "Meeting of Administration and Values … Enhancement and Enabling" which was themed "How to be a role model?"
During the workshop, Vice-dean of Higher Institute for Promotion of Virtues and Prevention of Vices Dr. Omar bin Hassan Al Rashedy gave a presentation on administrative leadership skills and the abilities that affect individual and groups behaviors.
He said the administrative leadership is an "art" from the side of effect and leading individuals' perspective and is a "behavior" from the side of interaction when the leader is a role model for co-workers.
The leadership may be part of the instinct and be an acquired trait that got learned from others, he said, adding man can achieve success on his own but the group would never succeed without leadership.
The administrative leadership success is built on four pillars: the value that incites man for success – an example who can communicate and stimulate success – the skill of achievement – the non-stop progress), he said.
At the end of the workshop he answered questions and listened to feedback from attendees.
