Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture and in cooperation with the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, on 8 and 9 Shawwal 1441, A.H., will organize a series of introductory meetings for high school graduates entitled, "Start Your University Study the Right Way", via the WebEx virtual platform. These meetings are held in furtherance of the principle of social service under the current circumstances and the social distancing imposed due to the Novel Coronavirus (COIVD-19) pandemic.

The Dean of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, Dr. Ahmad Al-Ahmadi, explained that the initiative program comes in the context of the university's keenness to acquaint high school graduates with the available majors and admission requirements in order to enable them to choose a university specialization and be fully familiar with its study plan, fields, and career path in the postgraduate stage. This will be achieved through six introductory meetings given by the staff members of the college to provide information about the college as well as the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, and Department of Islamic Architecture.

It is noteworthy that the meetings will cover three comprehensive stages in explaining the goals of the college programs. They include the stage of pre-enrollment in the program, when the student should determine the division appropriate for their wishes, after being briefed on the majors available in the college as well as their streams and study programs. In the enrollment phase of the program, focus will be on enhancing the basic skills that the student must master, both during their educational process and in order to meet the needs of the labor market. The post-graduation phase contributes to developing the student's complete understanding of the various job fields and opportunities available to him.
