President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas on Wednesdy Jumada Al-Oula 18, 1438 H, attended signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between UQU represented by the Consulting Research and Studies Institute and Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Makkah Chamber Mr. Mahir Jamal. The agreement was signed by the Dean of the Consulting Research and Studies Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Shaari and the Secretary General of the Chamber Mr. Ibrahim Bardeesi.
Meanwhile, Dr. Assas praised this step which aimed at building community partnership between the university and the private sector within the university's role towards the community. He said thanks to Allah in the first place and then to the generous support provided for our university by our wise government led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince, Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior, Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul-Aziz, the Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense, Mohammed bin Salman and the follow up and attention paid to university by the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal as well as the keenness and guidance of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa. Having such support he added, the university is always keen to undertake its role and effective participation beyond its fences so as to achieve the strategic and national objectives represented in the Kingdom Vision 2030. He went on to say that the university will spare no effort to harness all its potentials to serve the country and its citizens. He also lauded the efforts exerted by the Consulting Research and Studies Institute and those in charge of it for undertaking their assigned role in offering consultancies and providing training opportunities for the sons of the nation at all fields.
On his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Mahir Jamal lauded efforts provided by Umm Al-Qura University under the guidance and follow up of the UQU President Dr. Assas to promote such constructive partnerships between the scientific institutions and the private sector represented by Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said that the agreement signed with the university represented by the Consulting Research and Industries Institute comes within the plans set by the chamber to broaden partnerships between the public and private sectors in this precious part of our nation so as to provide training and qualification opportunities for the national cadres through the programs launched by the university via its institutes and centers and the scientific experiences and capacities the university is filled with. He lauded the efforts exerted by the D ean of the Institute and those in charge of for activating this partnership between the two sides.
The Dean of the Consulting Research and Studies Institute Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Shaari expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas for his support and close follow up to the Institute, He added that the Institute currently includes three training units and the work is under way to establish similar four units to provide training and qualification for the national cadres and hone skills and talents of the youth in all specialties.
All the more, Dr. Al-Shaari indicated that the agreement signed between the Institute and Makkah Chamber of Commerce comes within the Institute's endeavors to participate in achieving the objectives and contained in the Saudi Vision 2030 adding that the agreement will contribute to strengthen the institute's community role.
It's worth mention here that the agreement's singeing ceremony was attended by the Institute's Vice Dean for Development and Business implementation Dr. Raed bin Abdurrahman Shalwala, the Institute's Vice Dean for Professional Accreditation Dr. Sahl bin Abdullah Waheeb, and a number of officials from both sides.
