President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas has received a three-year certificate of international academic accreditation for the Community College. It was issued by the US national accrediting agency, Council on Occupational Education (COE).
During a meeting at his office in Al-Abdiyah, Dr. Assas was given the certificate during a meeting with Dean of the College Dr. Khalid Sa’ad Mohammed Alslimi and former dean Dr. Khaled Barqawi.
It was attended by Vice President for Academic Development and Community Services Dr. Hany bin Othman bin Yassin Ghazi, Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed bin Ja'far Thabet and Aide of the University Development's Dean Dr. Khaled Khan.
Dr. Assas praised the college for achievements and endeavoring to get the international accreditation. He extended thanks to the college's dean, former dean and all employees who played a role in maintaining the quality of education and performance at the college.
In the same context, Dr. Ghazi said the Community College received UQU's first international accreditation in 2010 and was the first to maintain it for six years.
The accreditation renewal (till 2022) proved continuous success by the college on performance development throughout the last six years. The COE paid special care for the college's efforts depending on its performance annual reports.
The vice-president thanked Dr. Assas on his endless support to development programs in a bid to pave a prestigious position for the UQU at the international education arena.
