Due to increasing its educational productivity, upgrading the skills of the students of Umm Al-Qura University, and guiding them to deal with the circumstances of the current situation in a way that helps them to promote their scientific level, the General Administration of Digital Transformation launched the first virtual meeting (Webinar) for digital transformation in distance education. The virtual meeting was held in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, and was attended by a number of students from the different universities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Supervisor of the Administration, Dr. Hanaa Yamani, pointed out that the Webinar concentrates on the most important technological strategies and their applications that support students studying via distance education. It aims at facilitating access to the student services by presenting a series of informative talks, offered by specialists in technical fields, in order to make efficient and high quality use of the digital transformation in all the sectors and dealings of the administration.
Dr. Hanaa Yamani considered the Webinar to be a chance to form bridges of communication with students, discuss their technical inquires, and inform them about new applications and programs. This will be culminated with the participation of the various bodies of the university in explaining the guide of the available digital services on the website, which will be translated to sign language in collaboration with the accredited trainer, Ms. Hissah Al-Qudaimi.
On his part, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Omar Sunbul, stressed the continuity of the mission of the deanship in offering complete services and care for the students after the digital transformation through various applications and programs, especially within the Webinar for digital transformation. This can be achieved by the participation of the specialized bodies at the university to achieve the institutional integration called for by His Excellency the President of the University and his administration to promote the knowledge-based economy of the whole country.
Being a member in several programs organized by the university and a member at King Abdullah University Library Friends Team, Head of the Health Club, and Assistant of the Secretary of the Advisory Board for Student Activities, the female student Reem Al-Zahrani talked about her experience in digital transformation and the educational process.
Moreover, the Head of the Cultural Club and member of the Student Advisory Board, student Muhammad Mirdad, shared his experience of winning the Israr (determination) Award (The Best 150 Stories of Determination in the Saudi Kingdom).
