Under the directives of His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Abdullah Bafail, and the follow-up and care of the UQU Vice Presidency, the UQU Vice Presidency for Branches, and the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Umm Al-Qura University moved 570 of its foreign students to well-equipped housing units.

The Departments of Safety and the Campus Security, in coordination with the Housing Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs, transferred students to the Violet Hotel in the Al-Aziziyyah district and allocated a housing unit, which meets the requirements of health isolation, for each individual. This comes in line with the necessary precautions regarding the prevention of gatherings, mixing, as well as shared housing and services.

The UQU Vice President, Prof. Farid Al-Ghamdi, highlighted the UQU President's continuous follow-up in providing suitable housing units equipped with all the needs for sterilization, hygiene and nutrition for the students.  It is worth mentioning that the comprehensive health isolation standards set by health authorities are considered in such units in order to avoid the risks of the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and to preserve the guests of the Saudi Kingdom, who represent more than 70 nationalities from all over the world.
