On Tuesday 8 Shaaban 1441 A.H., the Intellectual Awareness Unit held a lecture entitled "Religiosity between Exaggeration and Negligence" in the Hall of Sheikh Abdul-Aziz bin Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) at the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion, Al-Abidiyyah campus. The lecture was transmitted to the female students via closed-circuit television.
The lecture was moderated by Dr. Saleh bin Derbash Al-Zahrani, member of the Intellectual Awareness Unit. It hosted as guest speakers Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Nahari, Associate Professor in the Training Courses Department of the Higher Institute for Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil, and Dr. Atef Sayyid Abdul-Jawwad, Associate Professor of Psychology, at the Training Courses Department of the Higher Institute for Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil.
Dr. Al-Sufyani explained the concept of religiosity in Islam, its importance, and how the servant becomes closer to Allah, the Almighty. Dr. Atef emphasized the concept of religiosity to a Muslim from a psychological point of view, and how its positive impact could be reflected in their actions.
At the end of the lecture, all the questions raised by students were answered.
