His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, at his office today (Tuesday), received the Director of the Islamic Studies Center at the Nigerian Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Muhammad Bello Uthman, and the delegation that accompanied him. This was in order to discuss means of cooperation with Umm Al-Qura University, and how to make use of the administrative and knowledge-related personnel in the university. The meeting was attended by the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdul-Wahhab Al-Resini, the Dean of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, Hasan Bukhari, and the Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, Dr. Basim Qadi.
Prof. Muhammad Bello Uthman indicated his desire to exchange experience and benefit from the cadres and expertise of Umm Al-Qura University in postgraduate programs and Shari`ah sciences, as well as the fields of Hajj and Umrah management, business administration, Arabic language studies, and medical specialties. He further stressed the status of Umm Al-Qura University as a knowledge institution, and the concrete efforts it has undertaken in many educational and Da`wah sectors in Africa.
On his part, His Excellency the UQU President welcomed the prospects of cooperation with Ahmadu Bello University and of exchanging academic experience with all educational institutions.
