Dean of the Institute of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage at Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Adnan Al-Harthi Al-Sharif paid a visit to the Austrian National Library in Vienna as per the directives of the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas based on the nomination of the Ministry of Education. The visit intended to open new prospects of cooperation between the Austrian National Library and the Saudi Universities.
The members of the visiting delegation learnt about the contents of the Austrian National library which is reckoned the second biggest library in Europe. They have also reviewed manuscripts and documents of the library particularly papyrus documents amounted to 180,000 in Arabic language and the remaining are written in ancient Egyptian language, Latin language and others.
Further the delegation conducted several meetings with the officials of the library. These meetings were intended to open prospects of cooperation in the field of Islamic heritage particularly verification and spreading of this heritage as well as making use of the expertise of the Saudi universities and particularly the Manuscripts Institute in this domain.
Meanwhile, Dean of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage lauded the support of the Ministry of Education and UQU President for their endeavor to open new prospects of cooperation with the different scientific institutions particularly in the Islamic heritage which was highlighted by the Kingdom Vision 2030.
