UQU Organizes (Value-Based Management) Workshop Within the Activities of (How to be a Role Model) Forum

In compliance with the directives given by the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) represented by the Administrative Development Unit organized a workshop under the title: "Value-Based Management… Promotion and Empowerment" on Tuesday Rabie Al-Thani 26, 1438 H, in preparation to participate in Makkah Cultural Forum which will be organized this year under the title "How to be a Role Model". The workshop was attended by the UQU Vice President who serves also as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Administrative Development Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou, the Supervisor General of  Glorifying the Sacred Land project Dr. Talal Abu-Alnour, a number of Department Directors and their assistants, and the faculty members, as well as the Dean of University Studies for Girls Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudi and the female Vice Deans,  who attended the workshop simultaneously via the closed -circuit TV at Al-Jawhara Hall.

 

At the commencement of the workshop, the Vice Dean of the College of Community and Continuing Education Dr. Zainab Al-Qadi explained the idea of the forum and the project along with the objectives behind organizing such workshop saying that "Value-Based Management....Promotion and Empowerment", comes as part of the participation of the university in the events of the Makkah Cultural Forum to be held under the title "How to be a Role Model". She prayed for Allah to grant them success and make the workshop comes out with outstanding results for drafting the forum's objectives and visions, meanwhile extending her thanks and appreciations to the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou and the Director of the Administrative Development Unit Mr. Fahad Al-Sharif for their effort to make this workshop a success.

 

"I welcome you today in this fraternal and casual meeting and thank you for coming", the UQU Vice President said in his speech, pointing out that the idea of this forum is based on the vision of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Emir of Makkah HRH  Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and his initiative of  "How to be a Role Model? For which he organizes weekly and regular meetings to check on the government agencies contribution to achieving the initiative. Dr. Shoushou added that, during his meetings, the Emir talked about taking the role model from our religion, pointing out that we should rely on the fundamentals and values of our religion to face the fierce attacks on our country. For this reason, he launched his initiative "How to be a Role Model", aiming at students, teachers and employees and the government establishments who shall launch their own initiatives in the field of their specialization, and based on the fact that universities shoulder most of the burden because they are involved as far as the intellectual figures are concerned. To that end, a number of committees were formed to handle the initiative. Further, he said  Thanks to Allah, Umm Al-Qura University has submitted many projects including the initiative of "Value-Based Management...Promotion and Empowerment" by the Administrative Development Unit, which was selected as the beast initiative. Still, he prayed for Allah to grant everyone success to come out with whatever achieves and supports the vision of the HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and he extended his thanks to the UQU President who is constantly interested in supporting the university initiatives and participations.

 

For her part, the Dean of University Studies For Girls, Dr. Hala Al-Amoudi delivered address on the importance of the workshop in strengthening the values and its role in the community, meanwhile extending her thanks and appreciation to the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas, the UQU Vice President Dr.Yassir Shoushou  and the members of the initiative teams for organizing such valuable and important workshop.

 

After that, the activities of the workshop which was run by the training expert Dr. Omer bin Ibrahim Al-Rashidi were started with its six themes including; vision and mission of the project, university code of ethics, leadership development center, Makkah medal for leadership development, the media plan of the project besides the figures and guests of the project. Then six groups were formed from the two sides to come out with ideas and objectives related to all the themes of the project.
