Umm Al-Qura University today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Family Affairs Committee affiliated to Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region Council, at the office of the Deputy Emir of Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, in Jeddah governorate. The goal of the memorandum is to enhance the standing of the family, and esteem its role in community development.
This memorandum aims at implementing the scientific and practical partnerships in the fields of family empowerment, and at contributing to build a strong coherent society.
Additionally, the MoU stipulates the exchange of technical information and expertise, as well as scientific references; the activation of research and studies dealing with family affairs in the region; provision of specialized consultation; design and implementation of academic, qualification and awareness-raising programs; and the launching of a number of initiatives to foster the family and enhance its stability. This is in addition to encouraging the academic staff and students to present activities and events that enhance the notion of the family and its value in the development and building of the society.
