(12) colleges and entities at Umm Al-Qura University recalled the memory of decades ago with regard to the historical heritage of Makkah. This was through the participation of female students and female employees in the activities of a campaign organized by the women's section of the Glorification of the Sacred Land Project "Hajar", in partnership with the Deanship of Student Affairs, during the period from 24 Safar to 4 Jumada Al-Thani.
The participating parties competed for the first three places in the competition accompanying the campaign by providing ideas and products concerning the documentation of the ancient Makkan heritage, using the latest methods and means available. The Deanship of University Studies in Rea Zhakhir won the first place with the "Irth" portfolio. The second place went to the College of Designs for the "Kana Kada" product. The colleges of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion took the third place for "The Great Figures of Makkah" channel, and the Social Sciences section for the "Makkah Guide". The College of Shariah won the E-Excellence Award, while the College of Designs won the Distinguished Director Award.
The Vice Dean for Direction, Guidance, and Community Partnership, Dr. Amal Khairu, stated that the submissions were subject to criteria and streams related to the history of Makkah and associated literature, as well as the different social movements in the city throughout time.
On her part, the Director of the Glorification of the Sacred Land Project in the female section, Ms. Manal Al-Jabri, stated that the campaign was launched with a variety of programs, events and educational corners over a period of 100 days, to introduce the most prominent landmarks of Makkah throughout the ages.
The Rubies Piazza and the Prestige and Majesty Exhibition witnessed a large turnout: 5368 visitors, and 1451 people interacting to finalize and launch the products. In addition, there were contributions of 351 faculty members in activating the campaign. The lists of knowledge questionnaires recorded about 3300 participants. The total number of in the field beneficiaries of the campaign reached more than 11 thousand, while the number of online beneficiaries exceeded 130 thousand.
At the end of the events of the program, the University Vice President for Female Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, honored the deanships, colleges and institutes who participated in the competition, and the faculty who were the most interactive with the campaign.
