Umm Al-Qura University signed an agreement with the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) to strengthen scientific and research cooperation. This cooperation involves providing training and qualification programs for Saudi accountants to work as specialists, establishing a framework for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as research, studies and training, and exchanging experiences in the fields related to the activities of the two parties.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, on behalf of the university, and by the Secretary General of SOCPA, Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Al-Maghames, on behalf of the organization. The signing took place in the presence of the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Prof. Ihsan Al-Mu`taz, during the ceremony held by the Saudi Accountants Forum.
His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University stressed the importance of the agreement, which reiterates the partnership between the two sides. He explained that this is due to the importance of the university partnership with various sectors and entities, and of the efforts to improve the training and professional development of the students.
Moreover, His Excellency said that the agreement enhances active cooperation with SOCPA in the field of accounting. Likewise, SOCPA will benefit from the teaching and scientific staff and from the various academic experiences of the university.
His Excellency added that the fields of cooperation will include the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two parties in everything related to the accounting and academic field as well as the field of preparing research, studies and accounting consultation related to the work of the profession. This is in addition to the exchange of scientific bulletins and publications issued by both parties.
On his part, the SOCPA Secretary General, Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Al-Maghames, stated that the Saudi Organization of Certified Public Accountants will provide training programs for Saudi accounting students for them to work as specialists in the field. He also noted SOCPA keenness to ensure the comprehsiveness of the programs provided. Al-Maghames expressed his confidence in the success of the cooperation with the university in the areas of training, development, and qualification.
In turn, the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Prof. Ihsan Al-Mu`taz, stated that the signing of this agreement comes within the framework of the keenness of the university, represented in the College of Business Administration and the Department of Accounting, to promote and qualify its students according to modern and distinguished programs for them to play a constructive role in their country.
