University of Umm Al-Qura (UQU) has set admission date for Graduate Studies for the academic year 1438-1439, to start by the beginning of the second semester on JumadaI 8, and last for three weeks.
This came during the meeting of the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas on Tuesday Rabie Al-Thani 12, 1438 H at his office in the university city in Abdyia with the Dean of Graduate Studies Dr. Saleh Al-Firaij, the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies for Admission, Dr. Suleiman Al-Saeed and the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies for Development Dr. Ahmed Al-Hindi, in the presence of the UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi. In the meeting, Dr. Assas checked on the plan and phases of admission to the graduate studies for the coming academic year 1438/1439.
Meanwhile, the Dean of Graduate Studies said the Deanship will continue support teaching assistants and lecturers by giving them preferred admission in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030 aimed at increasing numbers of the qualified in service employees. "The deanship will also continue to support the outstanding students by means of introducing special track of admission for those expected to graduate from the undergraduate level for the second semester of this year of those who are meeting the requirements set forth in the Standard Rules of Postgraduate Studies in the Saudi Universities by giving them the opportunity to apply for the High diploma and MSc programs" he expounded.
Further, Dr. Al-Firaij expressed his deanship's keenness to finish admission procedures within enough time before the end of the second semester to enable the concerned candidates particularly in the PhD stage to provide their scholarship and domestic grants approvals which qualifies them for full time study stipulated in the regulations and acknowledged by the University council.
On his part the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies for admission said that admission will go through several stages including; submitting the applications electronically via the admission gate, verifying the applications of the scientific departments according to the conditions declared in the admission guide to be published in the deanship website, to be followed by the written and verbal tests stage and then nomination stage.
After that, all the attendees listened to a guiding speech by the UQU President in which he reiterated commitment to support achieving the Kingdom Vision 2030 saying that the university will only support programs that achieve the vision and terminate others until updating them. He also urged providing support and assistance for the applicants and simplify procedures as much as possible, praising the great support attached by the wise leadership to the education sector particularly the higher education.
Concluding his speech, he prayed for Allah Almighty to reward the Rulers the best reward for the support they are giving to the Islam, country and his sons.
