The Professor of Computational Linguistics at the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Speakers in Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Ayman Al-Ghamdi, participated with a scientific paper, on Thursday, entitled, "Technology and Arabic Language Teaching", at the "Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Preservation and Promotion of the Arabic Language" round table discussion held in Paris. This event was organized in cooperation between the King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz International Center for Arabic Language and the Permanent Delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO, in conjunction with the celebration of the World Arabic Language Day 2019.
The paper tackled ways to harness technology to take advantage of the Arabic language, and to invest in the global digital trend to serve and preserve the Arabic language. It also touched on teaching and simplifying the grammatical rules and writing of Arabic on the internet, in addition to presenting some aspects of the linguistic richness that the Arabic language has with regard to its styles and linguistic metaphors.
