The students of the Department of Mass Communication at the UQU College of Social Sciences participated in the Fifth Dubai Narrative Short Film Festival organized by the Muhammad bin Rshid School of Communication at the American University in Dubai from 7 to 10 December, 2019 A.C.
The participating delegation was led by the head of the department, Dr. Salim bin Ali Uraijah, and a number of postgraduate and undergraduate students specialized in radio, TV, and film production.
Dr. Uraijah stressed the importance of the participation of the students in such activities to exchange expertise with their counterparts, learn more about their specializations and the opportunities available in their field and to check on the experiences of the influential figures and decision makers in this field.
The department students participating in the event agreed on the positive impact of their participation in boosting their professional knowledge and on learning more about the management mechanism of documentary film production.
The festival attracted about 100 students representing a number of universities in the Arab world. The activities included a number of open meetings and specialized workshops in writing, direction and marketing over three days, as well as the presentation of more than 30 short films.
