During the "My Protection" forum organized by the Vice Presidency of Female Student Affairs, UQU female students presented technical solutions and scientific innovations to combat different types of violence against women. The aim was to educate the community about the concept of violence, and explain its different types, including e-violence, being one of the causes of blackmailing and bullying suffered by the members of the digital generation.

The female students explained the benefits of their projects in the forum, providing a summary of their applications and the proposed programs for voting to start to decide the first three winners of the marathon competition. The idea of "My Protection" topped the list of the seven ideas participating in the competition, while the "Be Kind to Females" idea won the second place, and the idea of the "Protection Bracelet" won the third place.

The Supervisor General of the General Administration of Digital Transformation, Dr. Hanaa Yamani, stressed the importance of the marathon in supporting the active participation of the students in providing innovative ideas to settle problems of violence against women in general, and e-violence in particular. "Scientific and technical methods are used to help formulate the ideas and study their suitability for the problems for which they were developed," she expounded.

Dr. Yamani highlighted that the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education held specialized workshops in brain storming strategies and in generating innovative ideas, as well as the prototype course to help the students start their ideas and set them within the targets developed, to settle the proposed problem in a record time.

She explained that the marathon started with brainstorming sessions, which included a brief introduction to the participants of the different departments and colleges of the university about the methods of dealing in a professional manner with any problem. During the sessions, the different views and studies were presented and discussed with the female guides. The discussions covered the educational, psychological, social and technical sides of the different problems, in order to reach innovative solutions in an enjoyable manner, not like that of a formal session format.
