UQU Vice President, Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shouahou launched the limited campaign of vaccination against polio in the presence of the Director General of the University Medical Center Dr. Yassir bin Hassan Bahakeem and the Pediatrician at the Center Dr. Hisham Nabhan at his office in the University Headquarters in Azizia on Sunday Rabie Al-Thani 3, 1438 H.
Meanwhile the Director General of the University Medical Center, Dr. Yassir Hassan Bahakeem said this limited campaign for vaccination against Polio which targets children at age of 5 and below, comes within the framework of continuous cooperation and coordination between the Center and the Health Affairs Directorate in Makkah. He added that the University Medical Center participates in this campaign by providing vaccination for the targeted category within the visitors of the Center and that the campaign will be implemented in two phases each one will last for five days, the first one will start from Sunday Rabie Al-Thani 3, whilst the second dose will be launched on Jumada Al-Awal 15, 1438 H.
He explained that the Medical Center undertakes its positive role in the preventive sides by providing the best awareness messages for the students and affiliates of the university in particular, and the community in general, by such means of activating the events to enhance health awareness about the common diseases given that the health education is one of the most important pillars of prevention against diseases.
Further, Dr. Bahakeem expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas for the big support and attention paid to the University Medical Center. He also extended his thanks to the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir Shoushou for sponsoring the campaign and for his continuous follow up to works and activities of the Medical Center, the thing which contributed to upgrading the therapeutic and preventive services provided by the center for all the students and affiliates of the university and all those who are eligible to receive treatment at the center.
Within the same vein, the UQU Vice President Dr. Shoushou highlighted the importance of participation in the awareness activities and events dedicated to educate the university community praising the role undertaken by the Medical Center in this regard, thus reflecting the quality of the medical services provided by the center to the university affiliates.
