UQU President Discusses Future Plans for Student Activities Programs

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, had a meeting with the Secretariat of the Advisory Board for Student Activities in which the board's programs and future projects were discussed, with regard to the mechanism of enacting a series of activities offered to the students, and promoting diverse partnerships in the campus community at large, with special emphasis on topics of interest to the students.

During the visit to His Excellency's office on Wednesday, the Board Secretariat reviewed its development plans and contributions towards the formulation of student activities that achieve the university's strategy and aspirations, and are aligned with the national objectives of improving the educational environment. This is carried out with attention being paid to students' proposals, integrating them into the university decision-making process.

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University discussed with the Supervisor of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Babalghith, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Omar Sunbul, the Board Secretary, student Abdul-Rahman Al-Samadani, and the Head of the Cultural Club, student Muhammad Walid Merdad, the recently approved executive rules of the Advisory Board and the Supreme Council for Student Activities, in accordance with its vision and objectives, which are consistent with the university's strategic plan Tamkeen 2023.

His Excellency directed the Secretariat of the Board to overcome the difficulties that may come in the way of the board in order to fulfill its tasks, and to provide all the incentives needed for the students to improve the level and quality of the performance of the student clubs at the university, through monthly and yearly rewards and awards. The president also indicated that the improvement in the activities could also be achieved through concerted efforts of those in charge of activating the programs towards the production of distinctive and quality student activities, thus achieving the university's aspired leadership.
