President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri bin Matouq bin Bakri Assas congratulated the member of the teaching staff at the History Department in the University, Prof. Wafaa bint Abdullah Al-Mazroua for receiving the Award of the outstanding Arab Historians during the annual conference of the Arab Historians Union 2016 held in Cairo University, Egypt.
Meanwhile, Dr. Assas said the university has a rich stock of excellent and highly-qualified scientific calibers who have won several awards dedicated to scholars and people of knowledge around the world at the regional and international levels. He added that wining one of these awards by Dr. Waffa represents an historical achievement for the university and he wished her more success.
On her part, Dr. Wafaa applauded the support of the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Bakri Assas and said " her honoring by the Arab historians' Union came in recognition of the books and scientific researches which were all devoted to the Muslims victories and to monitor the events experienced by Arab and Islamic capitals and cities", adding that she had submitted more than 18 scientific researches in this regard.
On this occasion, the Dean of University Studies for Girls Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudi will honor Dr. Al-Mazroua on behalf of the UQU President at the Deanship Headquarters in Al-Zahir in recognition of the efforts she exerted for the Islamic history and science.
It is worth mentioning here that, Dr. Wafaa is a member of many associations interested in history including; Arab Historians' Union in Cairo, GCC Society for History and Archaeology, Saudi Historical Society and the Egyptian Society for Historical Studies.
