Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, the UQU President, handed out attendance certificates to participants in the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Course organized the Consultative Research and Studies, as represented by the Continuing Medical Training and Education. Dr. Assas handed out the attendance certificates at his office, with the presence of Dr. Ali al-Shaeri, Dean of Consultative Research and Studies Institute, Dr. Ayman Jawaherji, Supervisor of the Continuing Medical Training and Education Unit, and Dr. Ahmed Babelgheith, Dean of the College of Pharmacy.

At the beginning, Dr. Al-Shaeri reiterated the importance of such medical training courses that aim at qualifying and training health professionals in the various health areas. They would help them improve their performance, and develop skills. He added that this training course is the first fruits of the unit's training courses. Meanwhile, he extended thanks to the UQU President for his unstinting support for the Institute.

It followed that Dr. Jawaherji touched on the executive plan of the Continuing Medical Training and Education, as well as its organizational structure, requirements, vision, mission, objectives and executive schedules. He stressed that is training course is essential for each health professional to be able to rescue patients during the first so-called "golden minutes," to provide the patient with the oxygen and blood necessary for the brain cells, and for all bioprocesses. This program, he pointed out, is reckoned a prerequisite for each health professional (student, nurse, physician, pharmacist, paramedic, etc.) The unit has taken over the responsibility of continuing medical training and education, under the patronage of Umm al-Qura University, inspired by the Holy Quranic Verse: (whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the lives of all mankind.) The training course outcomes are as follows: Batch 1 (12 trainees), and Batch 2 (18 trainees), in addition to other batches to follow on a weekly basis (morning session for women, and afternoon session for men). Health professionals participating in this training course shall be awarded accredited certificates and credit hours. He thanked the UQU President, Dr. Assas, as well as dean of the Institute, Dr. Al-Shaeri, for their generous support for all the unit's programs.

For his part, the UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin Maatooq Assas, said, "The training courses offered by the unit is envisioned to help qualify graduates to maintain a high standard of quality and excellence, which would of course have a positive impact on their performance." He added that the unit, stemming from its vision, mission and objectives, will make every effort to train and qualify health professionals and graduates of medical colleges. He thanked Dr. Ali al-Shaeri, dean of the Institute, and Dr. Ayman Jawaherji, the unit supervisor, for their strenuous efforts. At the end, Dr. Assas handed out certificates to participants in the training course.
