UQU IAG Checks Readiness of Education College for Accreditation

The President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, gave orders that UQU Internal Audit Group, headed by Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, Vice-President for Academic Development and Community Service, should directly check that the requirements of the institutional accreditation were met at the College of Education, and that the College was ready for the international programmatic academic accreditation.

The Group was warmly received by Dr. Ali bin Mosleh al-Matrafi (Dean of the College of Education), as well as the College’s vice deans, and male and female heads of departments.  During the visit, quality documents and utilities of the College were checked. Moreover, the College’s male and female staff members and students were met. In this context, the Internal Audit Group comprised Dr. Muhammad bin Jaafar Thabet (Dean of University Development and Quality), his vice deans, as well as UQU accredited advisors and auditors.

On the other hand, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, Vice-President for Academic Development and Community Service, stressed that such visit comes within the general preparations of UQU colleges to obtain the institutional accreditation, and the specific dependence of the Education College programs on the international programmatic accreditation in which UQU made great strides. In other words, more than 27 academic programs at more than 12 UQU colleges were accredited. In this context, Dr. Ghazi appreciated the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas’ support for and attention to the institutional accreditation of UQU by the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) and the international accreditation of the various UQU colleges’ programs by the institutions and bodies that would grant them internationally-recognized quality and power certificates according to the applicable international norms and standards in the domains of education and research. Dr. Ghazi also extended deep thanks and gratitude towards Dr. Muhammad bin Jaafar Thabet, Dean of University Development and Quality, for the efforts exerted by him and all his accompanying team.
