The UQU's Jamoum University College today launched the ‘We Protect Our Generations’ exhibition to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs. The exhibition is organized by the UQU's Jamoum University College, in collaboration with the National Committee for Narcotics Control in the Holy Capital of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, under the slogan, "We Protect our Generations", during the period 6–9 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H., at the male and female sections.
The exhibition and the accompanying activities, at the UQU's Jamoum University College, were launched today by His Excellency the Dean of Jamoum University College, Dr. Suhail Al-Harbi, accompanied by the Governor of Jamoum, Mr. Imran Al-Zahrani. The Director of the Police Administration at Jamoum Province, Col. Saad bin Hamoud Al-Biladi attended the inauguration, along with a number of officials from relevant government bodies and authorities.
On his part, His Excellency Dr. Suhail Al-Harbi outlined that the college is seeking to shoulder its due community role in raising awareness and education to raise the awareness of the college students and edify them on the dangers of drugs. Moreover, he lauded the effort extended by His Excellency the UQU President, Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, to increase the awareness-raising and outreach activities of the university. In this vein, the UQU set up the Smoking and Narcotics Combating Committee to promote a healthy and safe learning environment for the students.
He pointed out that the participation of the relevant authorities with their lofty objectives, which are of interest to the community, aims to promote the health and education aspects, and support the excellence of Jamoum Governorate as a healthy city. Jamoum was evaluated by the World Health Organization and declared as the first health city in Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, and the third in the Saudi Kingdom. He also lauded the Governor of Al-Jamoum and the relevant authorities for their keenness to attend and participate in this exhibition.
On his part, the Governor of Al-Jamoum, Mr. Imran Al-Zahrani, stressed the vital and development role played by the UQU's Jamoum University College to promote knowledge and enhance its community role through organizing such educational exhibitions, which play a prominent role in raising awareness and educating the community.
Moreover, the Director of the Police Administration at Jamoum Province, Col. Saad Al-Biladi, highlighted the community role of the Police Administration in raising awareness and edifying community members on such topics. He referred to the programs targeting youth, being the builders of the future who shall help realize the development of the community, stressing that drugs are the main reason for the spread of crimes, and highlighting the wrong behavior promoted by the use of drugs.
The Assistant Director of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control in the Holy Capital of Makkah Al-Mukarramah underlined that the exhibition enhances the education of society, and underlines the dangers and harms of drugs as well as the methods of prevention, noting the awareness role shouldered by Jamoum University College in this regard.
At the end of the exhibition, Jamoum University College honored its success partners from the government sectors in Jamoum governorate.
