The General Supervisor of the Eqraa and Ijazah Program at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Ahmad Al-Feraih, announced that the program has given Qur'an certificates to 539 Qur'an reciters during the past ten years, along with the participation of 235 male and female Qur'an reciters. He said that the program aspires to become a global center for proficient reading of the Noble Qur'an, including Ijazah (certification that grants its holder official permission to teach and recite the Holy Quran with Tajweed) with a continuous Sanad (chain of Qur’an reciters, continuing to the Prophet, peace be upon him).

This took place during a ceremony held by Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the branch of the Saudi Scientific Association for the Sciences of the Holy Qur'an (Tibyan), to grant Ijazah to the students in the different styles of Qur'anic recitations. This year, the tenth year of the program, the ceremony was hosted at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Support Hall in Al-Abdiyyah. It was attended by His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, Dr. Ra'id Al-Usaimi, the Supervisor of the Eqraa and Ijazah Program, Dr. Ahmad Al-Feraih, the Director of the Endowment of Sheikh Amin Jad, Prof. Sa`id bin Amin Jad, the Branch Director of Tibyan Association, Ahmad Al-Huraisi, and a number of UQU officials.

The UQU Branch Head of the Saudi Scientific Association for the Sciences of the Holy Qur'an, Ahmad Al-Huraisi, pointed out in his speech that the program in its tenth year of operation has accomplished many achievements, in addition to introducing the Ibn Al-Mubarak remote-reading classroom, which was supported by Ibn Al-Mubarak Community Services Foundation. Fifty male and female Qur'an readers from 14 different countries benefited from this foundation; a total of 13 of them received Ijazah.

He added that this year several students of scientific colleges, such as engineering and medicine, joined the program, and obtained Ijazah.

Dr. Al-Huraisi expressed the pride of the Association in the Eqraa and Ijazah Program that is being implemented by the Association's branch in Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, which has become the focus of attention of specialists who wish to emulate this successful program.

After this, the audience listened attentively to the recitation of one of the program graduates, who obtained an Ijazah in the ten major recitations. Finally, the ceremony concluded by honoring the graduates who received Ijazah from the Eqraa and Ijazah Program and Ibn Al-Mubarak Qur'an Classroom.
